OZ Farm (Point Arenas, CA)
We met two kind dudes in the public library who invited us to stay at OZ farm while we waited out a rainstorm. We had huge, delicious meals, played music, explored the beautiful farm, made fresh apple cider and much more. Thank you to everyone at OZ farm. You all are amazing and your farm is magical!
John and Elena (Jenner, CA)
When Jason, Lily and I rolled into the small town of Jenner, a rainstorm was approaching so we stopped in the town's only coffee shop. In there we met a kind man named John who was very interested in our trip. While talking to him another woman walked in and said, "you all look like strong young people into a side diversion." We said, "yes! sure!" Before we knew it we were kayaking out to a little island to retrieve an abandoned refrigerator before the opening of the river mouth took it out to the ocean. On our way back, with the fridge in tow, John came out in his row boat and asked if we would be willing to help him get his sailboat onto his dock after we were done. We said, Yes! sure!. Before long we were drinking tea in John and elena's house, soaking up the hot tub and ultimately slept in the studio of their beautiful home. They cooked us a delicious meal, we drank wine and talked about wonderful things. Thank you John and Elena! Your hospitality warmed our hearts and made us feel like little grand children in the care of loving elders. it was incredible!!!
Miguel Aznar
I try to help people when I can, but Miguel activly seeks out those who need help in order to not just "do what he can", but rather all that he can. He stoped his work out and excorted us though Aptose. He gave us so much food and on top of it all he did it with a smile. He lives by the idea that tomorrow is not just another day, it is THE day and the only thing to do is to be excited by it. Miguel is an inspiration to my life and I hope to live with the excitment he has for his. Thanks buddy, you brough love into our hears, food into our bellies, and opened our minds to kindness.
Doris and Anne
Hospitality was the center of their world. Short Notice, seven dirty kids, lots of bikes, what else could make most people crawl into a ball of hurt? Thanks so much for letting us stay over and using your kitchen. Your music selection was amazing and your personal energy fed our bodies all the more.
